Little Britain 3 The Bulldozers lost their '2nd game of the zone finals Thurs- day night, in a game that either team could have won. The first period was Port Perry's, controlling the pace of the game & picking up 2 goals. Goal tender Jim Topping came up with some great saves and kept Britain from scoring. The second period was Bri- tain's turn to get on the score- board, picking up 2 goals to tie the score. The third period was as even as could be, with both teams giving their best, and it looked like there was going to be over- time. But with 2 minutes to the end of the game Little Britain put the puck behind Topping for the winning goal. It was good to see Don Coch- rane back in uniform. It was a good game to watch and a great turn out by fans. Scoring for Port M. McKee from D. Gibson, C. Grandy A. Mathews from B. Parry. * ck. 0% SATURDAY Port Perry 7. Little Britain 2 A game that kept the Port Perry fans cheering and in _ great spirits right from the op- ening face-off as the Bulldozers stormed in and scored. This seemed to upset Little Britain, as it was Port Perry all the way. Let's hope the boys can keep this fast-aggressive hockey up. Scoring for Port D. Gibson from M. McKee, D. McNenly D. McNenly, unassisted A. Mathews from W. Venning. W. Venning from D. Cochrane L. Middleton, unassisted. L. Middleton from A. Mathews D. Conlin from W. Venning. * * *® SUNDAY __. Port Perry 3. Little Britain 4 This was a game Port could have won and should have won, but to my mind a verse from an old song sums this game up. "Old Soldiers never die, they Sixth Game only fade away". And this is exactly what happened. Port controlled the first and most of the second periods, but the remainder was Little Bri- tain putting on the pressure and. going ahead on the score-board. In the closing minutes of the third period a fine breakaway pass paid off for Port, and put them one goal down. In a final effort they pulled their goal tender but to no avail. "Scoring for Port L. Middleton from A. Mathews, W. Venning A. Mathews from L. Middleton, W. Venning A. Mathews from D. Gibson. * * * TUESDAY Port Perry 4. Little Britain 3 The Bulldozers bounced right back to form on Tuesday in a fast and onesided game. With Port putting on the pressure throughout the game, the boys seem to have got that confidence they needed. The series now stands at 3 games to 2 for Little Britain, and with the same effort Sat. night the boys could tie this series up. There was 496 people in at- tendance at this game, a great turn out by fans and a great booster for the boys. I would like to mention an outstanding game by Mac Mec- Milan on defence, if stars were given out Mac desrved the first. Also 'a player who never gets mentioned but is always out- standing, Ken Roberts, who gives all he's got in every game. Well done boys, let's keep going. Scoring for Port B. Oke from W. Venning L.
