Hill Mrs. Leith Byers was hostess for the Dorcas unit Wednesday afternoon. Leader Mrs. C. Hill opened with a poem on "Friend- ship" and prayer. Following the singing of Hymn 488 the business was dealt with. The Chapter of Study Book -- "How the Church Came to the West", was dealt with by Mrs. Hill. Mrs. Gordon Strong gave an ex- ceptionally fine commentary & led a discussion on "The Bible". Attendance 5 members and 3 visitors. Mrs. Glenn Larmer was host- ess for the Esther unit Wednes- day evening when 9 members and one visitor attended. Leader Mrs. Arnold Taylor opened with a poem and conducted the busi- ness period. Mrs. Bruce Mount- joy and Mrs. Harold Martyn gave the worship on "Esther". The Film strip "By the King, A Proclamation" was shown and discussion on same followed. Business at both meetings consisted mainly of preparation for Church Family night con- sisting of Pot Luck Supper, dis- | = play of exhibits from all Prov- inces of Canada and Centennial programme Tuesday, May 2nd. Next Sunday morning the M#sonic Lodge of Port Perry are to attend service here at 10 o'clock. Then next Sunday evening a Gold Cord Ceremony will be held at 7.30 p.m. when Karen Campbell, Bonnie Mal- colm and Dianne Taylor will be awarded this high honour. In St, John's. .Church -Rev- Rose took his text- from St. Mark 1, verse 2 and spoke on "Our Part in Preparing the Way". The Twelfth Annual Confer- ence of the Oshawa Deanery | Woman's Auxiliary, took place at St. John's Church, Blackstock on Thursday, April 20th, 1967. There was an excellent attend- ance with representations from Port Perry, Ajax, Uxbridge, Brooklin, Whitby and Oshawa. Following an interval for re- gistering and coffee the W. A. hymn was sung & an address of welcome given by Mrs. J. Law- rence, President of St. John's W.A. The President of the Deanery Mrs. S. Wotten, St. George's, Oshawa, opened the business session, reports were given by the various officers. The slate of officers for 1967 was given by the chairman of the nominating committee Mrs. H. D. Cleverdon, Christ Church Oshawa. Mrs. K. J. Trampton, Bowman- ville, spoke on the appeals. Rev.
