In the Un ited Church the choir sang a lovely arrangement of "O Hap- py Home." Rev. P. Romeril de- livered an impressive sermon on the responsibilities of par- ents, stressing how parents should go ahead and lead children rather than pushing them from behind. The follow- ing received the sacrament of Infant Baptism. Teresa Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hen- ry Buma; Janet Lynn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Bailey; Kevin Lee, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Ferguson; David Allen son of Mr. and Mrs. David Hud- son. In St. John's Church, Rev. R. C. Rose combined the theme of Whit Sunday and Mother's Day in a very fine sermon. | O.N.O. MEETING The May O.N.O. meeting was held at the home of Sally Fran- ces on Thursday evening with 23 members and three visitors present, Minutes were read and approved. Aileen VanCamp asked for volunteers to help at Port Perry Hospital Bazaar on May 27th. O.N.O. was asked to cater to the Graduation Dinner for Grade eight on May 20th. Mother's Day Supper The Mother's Day supper at St. John's on Friday evening was well attended and as usual a very excellent meal was en. joyed. Prizes were given to the oldest mother present, Mrs. J. Forder; the mother with the nearest birthday, Mrs. William Forder and the mother with the most children, Mrs. Vernon Asselstine. Hi-C Popular Party Approximately thirty young people attended the "Popular Party" of the Hi-C in the Chris tian Education room on Sunday short talk. The councillors, Mr. and Mrs. Neil Malcolm and Mr, and Mrs. Dalton Dorrell gave the -Devotional.----After--which- some games were played and O.N.O. Family Dance There was a good attendance and a very pleasant time spent at the "Family Dance" by the O.N.O. on Friday night. Sever: al attired in Centennial cost: umes added to the scene. Prizes were won for the elim: ination dance, Ann Marlow and Cindy Lou McCall. Mother's Day door prize went to Mrs. Jim Greaves, Youngest person present, Lisa Dorrell. Largest family, there were six lots of two parents and four children, so as a result a draw prize went to the Bob Wheelers. The John Burnham orchestra from Scugog provided the mus. ic.
