The group visited the farm of Duncan Mec- Tavish, Uxbridge, to judge beef cattle and sheep; the farms of Morley Raines and Hugh Baird, Blackwater, for dairy cattle; and the farm of Morley Parish, Ux- bridge, to judge swine. Friday evening, May 26, Mr. and Mrs. Tommy Thomas, Osh- awa were supper company with their friends, Mr. and Mrs. C. Newnham. At 8.30 same evening the U. C.W. president Mrs. Newnham acted as mistress .of ceremon- ies for the variety evening in the church sanctuary which was quite well filled of local and folk representing bordering ar- eas. A humerous reading by Mrs. S. Lindsay, musical num- ber comprising of Mrs. Hunter and Mrs. Snelgrove. Several vocal selections by grades. 4-6 of Consolidated No. 1 school, Sanderson. Mrs. Newnham then introdu- Jegrriedon Oshawa who provided educat- ional entertainment via pictur- es they had taken of S. Africa, Mrs. H. Holtby graciously thanked the Thomas' for their interesting part of the program and at the conclusion of her remarks presented a gift. All were invited to the chur- ch parlors where a buffet lunch was available. Mr. and Mrs. A. Martyn, Jo- anne and im enjoyed a recent week-end in Niagara Falls and also visited friends. Mr. and Mrs. C. Graham att- ended the 30th wedding anniv- ersary in honour of Mr. and Mrs. Ira Travell in Oshawa on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. J. Rensink of Gouda, Holland are spending three months with his son, wife and family, Mr. and Mrs. N. Rensink. Mr. and Mrs. Jas. Davidson, Jr. enjoyed having their grand- son Michael Siebarth of Scugog Island for a few days. Mrs. H. Holtby visited her friend, Mrs. Wiggens in Tor- onto on Tuesday. Mrs. Les Beacock attended a shower at the home of her sis- ter, Mrs. L. Devitt, Oshawa on Friday evening honouring a bride-to-be, Miss Pamela Fair- Mrs. Stewart Rodman, Osh- awa is visiting most of this ham. Mr. and Mrs. N. Wilson and sons had her sister, Mrs. N. Rodd, Oshawa, and Mr. and Mrs. B. Rodd and family, Brook- lin on Sunday. Better health is wished Mr. Clayton Love who had surgery in St. Michaels Hospital, Toron- to and same wish to Mr, James Davidson Sr. who is a patient in Port Perry Hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gibson attended the funeral of Mr, Hilliard Kennedy, in Uxbridge who was found dead in bed. Mr, and Mrs. Thos. Stephen- son and family motored to Tor- onto Airport recently. and met her mother, Mrs. Calver of Leicester, England. They all motored to Midland on Sunday and viewed highlights of that district.
