Funeral Services were held on Satur- day, July 14 at the Low & Low Funeral Parlours, Ux- bridge, with interment in Pine Grove Cemetery, Prince Albert. Dear Sir: According to the newspaper of June 29, 1967, the report from Council, headlined "Gives Many Suggestions", only statements made by me were printed and not any of the answers I received from Council. I feel that some of these answers would be of interest to your readers, as I was not appearing only on my behalf but also. for many others. I asked about sidewalks on | 7A Highway (Scugog Road). Are we going to wait until a child is killed before doing something about this? Three children have been injured so far. I received the retort that this did not come under jurisdiction of our Council but under the Department of Highways. Dées Council not act, on behalf of the citizens? Also it was said by a Council member, since we parents are so worried we better get a school bus to send the children from the South end of Town to the Public School. Are we worrying needlessly? When asking about side- walks between 7A Highway and Poplar Park, a very busy | road for pedestrians and cars, no definite answer or suggested answer was given except, "we can't seem to please everybody. Some places we put sidewalks the people complain". I really don't think anyone will com- plain if one is put here, will they? The third place I suggest- ed a sidewalk was on Union Avenue hetween Oshawa Road (Ontdrio Street) and Scugog Road, not Lilla Street and Ontario Street as stated, | for there is already one there. At one time there was a sidewalk at said area having been removed when the road was widened, and never replaced. I have been asking this question for years and yet have not received a concrete answer.
