And to the family of Mrs. James Ginn, a former resi- dent of Cartwright whose funeral was held at McDer- mott-Panabaker Parlors with interment in Cadmus Union Cemetery, Wednesday. Rev. R. C. Rose delivered a fine sermon on "The Rich Young Ruler", in St. John's on Sunday morning. As Rev. Rose is now on holidays, Rev. Mansfield, Port Perry will be in charge here for the next few weeks. A nice crowd attended the Community Shower Saturday night in honour of Dr. and Mrs. Wayne McShane (Elaine Mountjoy). Harvey Graham was the capable M.C. for the evening. The couple came to the platform as Cheryl Met- calf played the wedding march. Program consisted of piano solos by Gordie Mal- colm = Anne Marlow and Cheryl Metcalf; readings by Nancy Dorrell and Cheryl Wright, and a piano accor- dian solo by Linda Mountjoy. The chairman added some humorous and suitable stor- jes. He also expressed the good wishes of the commun- ity and presented Dr. & Mrs. McShane with a bridge set (table and four chairs) a beautiful wall mirror and an electric clock. Also several miscellaneous gifts. Both bride and groom expressed their appreciation. Lunch was served and dancing to music provided by Mrs. Hopps, was enjoyed. Mrs. B. Van Ryswyk is visiting relatives in Holland. Mr. & Mrs. Walter Wright and three girls visited Lorna in Waterloo a week ago Sun. day and Mrs. Wright remain- ed for a few days. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Taylor spent Thursday to Monday last week with Mr. and Mrs. Anson Taylor at the latter's cottage on Lake Muskoka. Mr. Orval Stinson, Linda and John, Chesley, and Mrs. R. Stinson, Bowmanville, vi- sited Mrs. A. Wright and the Fred Trewins Saturday even ing and Mrs. Edgar Horn, Oshawa and Miss Doreen and Donald Trewin, Enniskillen were Sunday callers. A bus load from this area visited Expo Wednesday to Friday last week and regis: trations for another one in August are being taken. On Sunday evening Miss Sharon Larmer entertained a number of young people in honour of Miss Michon. Glad to report Mrs. Stan- ford Van Camp home from hospital. We wish her a speedy convalesence. McMillan visited Mr. 9d Mrs. Orvin Chambers at Wilfred on Sunday afternoon. Mrs. E. Tait is on a tour of the Maritimes, including 2 days at Expo. Mrs. H. Guy, Mr. Bill Car- negie and Mr. and Mrs. H. Phoenix attended the Car- negie picnic at Elgin Park in Uxbridge on Saturday. Mrs. H. Guy is spending a week at Cobourg.
