BA | PORT PERRY STAR -- Thurs, August 17th, 1967 -- 13 Two of our local 0.A.S.A. entries were knocked out of the play-offs this past week. The Legion Squirts were eliminated by Oshawa Harm- an Park in two straight games, 11-4 and 147. In both games one bad inning proved to be the Legion boys down fall. Coaches Don Bronson and Jim Irvine spent a lot of time with these boys and the young lads gave the Oshawa team a good hard fight. The Lions Club Bantams lost out to Cobourg in two straight games also, 4 to 0, and 7 to 4. The game in Port Perry was well played as both teams came up with fine plays. Ken Irvine and Bill David- son combined to pitch a good game on Saturday, but the Lions boys could not get the hits when needed. With two injured players not in the lineup, coaches Al Wacket and Wayne Venn- ing still fielded a fine team and with a bit of luck could have pulled through.
