Some progress has been made on the "Head" Centen- nial project of improvement to the Cemetery. The wet summer has hindered the work and the availability of volunteer help. Slab mark- ers have been assembled in order to get an estimate in cost of cement. Many need cleaning and lettering ac- cented. Several large monu- ments need repairs and sup- port. Several, families buri- ed there have no stones at all. It is possible their rela- tives may wish to add a slab while the others are laid in place. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Martyn have returned to their Is- land home for part of the summer. On Wed. Mrs. N. Reader with Raymond and Janet had the pleasure of attending the Toronto Exhibition. Rev. Teskey is now on va- cation with his family. The church services will continue during his absence. Each Sunday will be under the guidance of an. assigned group. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Heayn and family spent a week in Haliburton at Pine Lake with their cabin trailer for resi dence. Last week-end they visited relatives in the Hali- burton area which is very agreeable to their needs and pleasure. The Ashbridge family had a holiday touring and camp- ing in the Pembroke area. One point of interest was a tour through the Bonnechere Caves at Eganville. They were not discovered until 1955. There is great evidence of a once tropical climate thro' the many fossils found there. 1.25 ||Port Perry Fair The Scugog Ramettes ap- preciate your attendance and support and are at present in 3rd place.
