Unit-seven met on a sum- mer-like évening at the home of Mrs. G. Burnett. A poem and story opened the devo- tional period read by Mrs. Gerrow and responded by members. : Hymn "16" was joyously sung, followed by a reading by Mrs. G. West of the Psalms and Luke 17: 11-19. Mrs. G. Lee led for the study book lesson "Why Past Christian Experience Con- cerns Us". A prayer closed this discussion time. Minutes of the last meeting were read and roll call with 13 members present was taken. Mrs. Burnett opened the business meeting by a poem, "There's a Mending to Do". With nursery & flowers for the Sundays in Oct. Turkey supper Oct. 4th, for which food will be prepared. Bazaar goodies to look after. Last minute aprons to make, the unit will have a busy month. But everyone was very will ing to work. Are the dessert recipes in? Unit 9 need more. 12 hospital calls and one home call were reported to Mrs. Gerrow. Mrs. Burnett has tickets for Turkey sup- per if you need them. Offering was collected and a birthday bank was suggest- ed to start in October. Mizpah benediction closed the delightful evening. Mr. and Mrs. Fred West spent the week-end at their cottage at View Lake. Our deepest sympathy is felt for Mrs. Stewart and fa- mily in the loss of a dear husband and father Mr. Thomas Crandell Stewart who was laid to rest in Prince Albert Cemetery. This land was first cleared by Mr. Ste- wart's grandfather -who had a large grant of land in the Prince Albert area and was one of our first pioneers. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Mar- ten of Bowmanville visited on Tuesday with his sister Mrs. A. D. Christie & Mr. Christie. Nearly all the Epsom la- dies enjoyed the hospitality of the Munro home on Sat. evening when Mr. and 'Mrs. Ray Munro entertained with a trousseau tea in honowr of their daughter Betty's forth- coming marriage. The Anniversary services at Utica were well attended on Sunday. Miss Darlene Christie of Toronto spent Sat. with her parents Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Christie and attended the funeral of her neighbour the late Thos. Stewart. On Sunday Darlene and her friend Deanna Doupe motored to Kincardine to spend the day with Deanna's parents.
