~ JGHANCE § Barbara Ann Sedgwick Weds James In Norwood United Church Norwood--Carrying a cas- cade of gardenias, gladioli, stephanotis and ivy Barbara Ann Sedgwick became the bride of James Murray Byers of Blackstock at Norwood United Church on Saturday, & September 23. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Sedgwick of Norwood chose a floor length empire gown of French crepe with bodice & » bell sleeves trimmed with seed pearls embedded in lace and a matching train trim- med with lace. She wore a bouffant veil of silk illusion Murray Byers with a seed pearl headdress. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Murray Byers of Blackstock. He was at- tended by Don Swain of Blackstock as groomsman, Ushers were Larry Hoskin and Brian Mountjoy of Blackstock and Robert Sedg- wick of Norwood. The wedding music was played by Mrs. J. H. Caskey. She acompanied Mrs. R. K. Tedford who sang 'O Perfect Love' and 'Those Whom God have Joined Together'. The Rev. R. Nicholls officiated in a double ring ceremony. N Bridal attendants were Burketon The church was filled to capacity on Sunday being the Fall Thank Offering Service. The Rev. Milton Sanderson of North Parkdale United ¢ Church, Toronto was the guest speaker. Mentioned he was always asked to come home for these special ser- vices at least once a year. The sympathy of the com- munity is extended to Mr. Stanley McCullough & other members of their family in the passing of his mother who lived at the village of Lotus. The beautiful flowers in the church on Sunday were in her memory. Sunday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Taylor were Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Branson of Toronto who also attended the Thank Offering Service at the Church. Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Frick, Lindsay, visited friends and relatives in the community recently. _ Mrs. Raymond Davey spent Friday afternoon in Lindsay. ~~ Mr. & Mrs. Dave Gatchell; Oshawa were recent Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. The groom's mother wore a jacket dress of burgandy-pro- cade, a matching feather hat. and a corsage of pink roses. For a wedding trip to the United States the bride chose trimmed PORT PERRY STAR -- Thursday, Nov. 2nd, 1967 --- § a matching coat and dress of tourmaline green wool with a corsage of yellow roses. The couple will live at Blackstock. LJ ww J Prior to her farriage the bride was honoured with a cup and saucer shower, given by Miss Rosemary Rothwell of Norwood. Mrs. Stirling Stewart and Miss Margaret Stewart of Hilton gave a kitchen shower. Miscellane- ous showers were given by Miss Clara Jenkins and Mrs. Ross Legge of Norwood. by Mrs. Ronald Webster and Mrs. Stan Andrews of Nor- wood, and by Mrs. Everett Sedgwick with Mrs. Wm.
