Leonard Beadle, D.D.- G.M. of District #41 and his installing team met at the Lodge Hall, Port Perry for the purpose of installing the officers of Warriner Lodge for the 1967 - 1968 term. , The offciers are as follows: Junior Past Grand-- Br. Beadle on the performance of his installing team. Bro. Beadle also gave a few words of advice to those present. Past Grand Bro. Hodgins was called to the centre of the floor and his son and daughter presented him with his Past Grand's pin. At the close over 200 mem- bers and friends enjoyed a social time in the banquet room. N. White, Canning- ton, President, Ontario Coun- ty Tuberculosis & Health Association chaired the re- cent Health Institute sponsor- ed by this association. Dr. D. I. Gove, Ajax; Mrs. Shiela Canning, Supervisor Public Health Nurses, Ontario Coun- ty Health Unit; Dr. C. A. Wicks, Med. Supt., Toronto Hospital, Weston, and Mr. J. Wannop, Oshawa, were panel- ists with Dr. C. C. Stewart, M. O. H. Oshawa, as modera- tor. The proposed perman- ent chest clinic was the sub- ject for discussion. The all day programme was devoted to panel discussions and guest speakers on the piratory diseases (RD), such as emphysema, chronic bron- chitis, asthma, etc. The afternoon session in- cluded a panel composed of 4 students and 4 parents on smoking. Dr. C. W. L. Jeanes, Exe- cutive Director, Canadian TB Association, reminded the delegates that much work still remains to be done. He said several TB epidemics had swept Canada in the past few years. One serious one last year, where 200 students in Nova Scotia high school were found to be infected and needed prolonged drug treatment, while 30 were ad- mitted to a Sanatorium for treatment. Dr. Wicks stated that pre- viously our emphasis was ori- ginally on TB deaths. It is now on the active and inact- ive cases of tuberculosis. The Dutch remember, do You Did You Know . . .
