Graduates Enjoy Banquet Held In Lindsay A graduation dinner, spon- sored jointly by the Stud- ents' Council and the Board of Education, was held at the Bonfire restaurant, Lind- say, on Sunday, November 26 at 1.30 p.m. for the gradu- ates of Grade 13 of Cart- wright High School, Black- stock. Those attending the banquet included the fifteen graduates, their parents, their teachers, the members of the Students' Council and Mr. and Mrs. Doug Sleep -- Mr. Sleep representing the Board of Education. After an enjoyable meal, Miss Joan Horton, President of the Students' Council, wel- comed the group and pro- posed a toast to the graduat- ing class -- the largest in the history of = Cartwright toast to the Principal, Mr. Paisley and his staff, and Mr. Denis McLaughlin of the University of Guelph who proposed a toast to the par- ents. There followed remarks by Mr. Paisley, Mr. Ashton, Mrs. Taylor, Mrs. Christie, Mrs. Johnston and Mr. and Mrs. Snaith, Mr. Sleep, Mrs. Ivan Thompson and Mr. Dal- ton Dorrell. Before adjourn- ing for a social hour, Miss Sharon Larmer of Oshawa General Hospital Nursing School, extended a vote of thanks to the Students' Coun- cil for having arranged the dinner. Before departing the stu- dents enjoyed chatting with one another and reminiscing about their days at C.H.S. High School.
