Webster, RR. 2, Port Perry, a terrific flash of lightning and clap of thunder, cut off the hydro, causing instant darkness. Candles were put into ser- vice, while all enjoyed Christ- mas cake and tea. When Mrs. L. Smith return: Thurs, December 14,1967 ed home, she learned that their home had been struck. It hit the TV antenna, near the S.E. corner of the brick house. Considerable damage was done down stairs and in the basement, setting fire to the porch. All hydro & tele- phone lines were cut off, in- cluding the barn, ete. Les and the family and a guest had just retired after coffee and lunch a few minutes previ- ous. Fortunately, no one was hurt, as there was no dam: age upstairs. This was a frightening and costly ex- perience.
