"This organization mails billings to merchants, in- dustrial firms and newspapers throughout Canada, "usually for $14.75, for so-called "complimentary" ad- vertising which the recipient has not ordered. The billing invokes sympathy by using the words "veterans" and "hospital", At the bottom it reads "Distributed free of charge fo Canadian and American hospitals by courtesy of the "advertisers". This organization is in no way connected with any official Canadian hospital nor The Royal Canadian Legion and is now being investigated by The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and the' Edmonton City Police. Since an attempt was recently made to obtain funds by this organization from a Port Perry business man this warning is being published to alert all local merchants and citizens against such an unethical appeal. (Published as a Community service jointly by The Royal Canadian Legion. Branch 419, Port Perry; and the Port Perry Star)
