We were remiss last week in not offering our sympa- thies to Mrs. Dorothy Jeffrey in the death of her mother, and also to Mrs. Heidi Krieg on the death of her mother. Master John Bell spent some holidays with his grand parents in Parry Sound. On Wednesday Mr. and Mrs, Bill Bell and Anita also went to Parry Sound and spent the remainder of the week there. Mrs. Marvin Appleton, Ri- chard, Monita & Ryan spent a few days at Orillia. Miss Melodie Appleton spent a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Fralick. Miss Janice Carter and 3 friends from Port Perry spent last week at Quebec city and area. Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Ap- pleton and family were din- ner guests of "Mr. and Mrs. M. Rints of Whitby on Sun- day. Mr. and Mrs. W. P. Walker and family along with Mrs. B. Glad to report that none of the ladies involved in the car accident last Friday night were seriously hurt. Valerie Butt, Mrs. Alma Manns, Mrs. Hardy and Mrs. Johnstone. - Choir practise Thursday night 7.30 p.m. at the church. Some of our young sports- men are all smiles this week. Among them are Bill Wana- maker, captain and Gene Hurst star left winger of Little Britain Juveniles. Their efforts helped the team to win the All-Ontario Hockey Championship by de- feating St. George 11-5 on Thursday night in Little Bri- tain, and 14-5 on Sat. night in Ayr. Another stormy Sunday morning with the odd drift here and there kept attend- ance down somewhat, Mr. Wright, district supt. of the Canadian Bible Society spoke on its work at morning ser- vice. At S. S. the "beginners" class intended to sing a little song but after their teachers had - them nicely. lined up, most were so :busy looking around they forgot to sing.
