LE We have 2 coming-of-age parties to mention this week. On Sunday, March 24th, the Durward family and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Allin had a birth- day party for 21 yr. old Gor- don Durward at the home of his brother Lloyd of Port Perry. This last Saturday Ivan Stone of Toronto reached his 21st birthday too. His celebration was at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Groves and was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Ross Short of Port Perry. Incidentally Mr. and Mrs. Stone had a new 10 1b. son to show their friends. The baby's grandmother Mrs. Garfield Stone was in Tor- onto to make his acquaint- ance last week. Still another, who will reach his 21st birthday this week, is Brian Keen. We are glad to hear that Brian is feeling much better now after spending a few days last week in Lindsay hospi- al. Before we conclude this WES Barrorighs of Hsspler birthday business we must not forget Mrs. Clara Sleep whose 91st birthday comes on April 9th, Unit 2 U.C.W. met at the home of Mrs. Boe on Wed., March 27th. Meeting opened with a short devotional period in which Mrs. Hard- ing gave a suitable topic. Most of the evening's discus- sion concerned work -to be undertaken. Mrs. Keen had received a letter regarding a needy Indian family near Parry Sound. This is a mo- therless family of 9 children, the youngest being 3 years of age. The group decided this would be a worthy cause so are starting quilts now and an appeal for clothing will be made soon. Next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Sedore on April 17. On Friday Mrs. A. Moon attended the funeral of her brother-in-law Mr. Herb Wil- son of Cameron.
