Gordon Werner St. John's Presbyterian Church was decorated with white and mauve chrysanthe- mums for the candlelight ceremony as Susanne Marie MacMaster, Port Perry and D. Gordon Werner, Kedron, were united in 'marriage by Rev. Wm. Black, Friday even- ing, March 15th, 1968. Given in marriage by her "father, the bride chose a sheath gown of white ribbon lace, a trailing bow edged in lace trimmed the bodice front. Lace also edged the headpiece and floor length veil designed to match the dress." The long lily-pointed sleeves added a touch of tradition. She carried a cas- cade of white roses and. ste- phanotis accented by purple violets. The maid of honour was Miss Barbara Holtby. Misses Mary Lynne MacMaster, Betty Jayne MacMaster, and Miss Beth Werner were bridesmaids. The flower girl was Miss Carol Anne Werner. All were gowned alike in floor length gowns of mauve peau de creme. They SA nosegays - purple violets and wore hi) ching headpieces. 'Mr. Earl Werner acted as best man for his brother. The ushers were Mr. Paul Wills, Mr. Larry Shank and Mr. 'Bob Witzel. -- | The soloist was Mr. George |- Wright of Peterborough, Ont. He was accompanied by Mrs. Susan Wills at the organ. The reception was held in the Church parlor. The bride's mother received wearing a dress of pink lace with matching coat and ac- cessories and a white gar- denia corsage. The groom's mother assisted wearing a green flowered silk dress with green accessories -and a veorsage of 'white carna- tions. For a honeymoon to Wash- ington, D.C., the bride chose a dress of white wool, with. matching white & navy plaid coat, navy accessories and a green orchid corsage. Council decided to proceed with the water main and make all speed possible since an inspector . would have to be paid to see that the water main was layed according .to the County specifications. Township was present and he sfated that they would like three hydrants-- one at Doupe's store, one at the V across from the ceme- tery gate and the third one at the new school. Mr. Crawford reported that the ditch is caving" in on Kellett Street and requires some attention along the shoulder of the road. It was left for Councillors Kenny & Orde to investigate this situ- ation. Mrs. M. proached Council Sweetman as ap- she wished to talk about taxi meters in taxi cabs. She stated that most places pass-a-by-law requiring taxi meters and setting rates, then the by-law Enforcement Officer or Police are respon- sible for enforcing the by- law. It was decided that this matter be brought to the attention of the Village Solicitor again, and so the following resolution was passed. That the town soli- citor be requested to close off Queen Street, Mary, St., Casimir St., and Shanley St. from Water Street to the Lake. Action on this matter is requested within 2 weeks.
