2 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Thursday, or 2nd, 1968 The Ontario Department of Agriculture and Food has announced the appointment of Ken Wilson as Assistant Agricultural Representative for Ontario County, effective April 22, 1968. : "Mr. Wilson has just com- pleted the degree course at the Ontario Agricultural Col- lege, University of Guelph, where he majored in Poul- try Science. He comes to Ontario Coun- ty with a good general farm background His home is 'near Yelverton, in Durham County. He has taken part in the 4-H Agricultural Club Former Peel Employee Assist. Representative "Guelph. program for several years. He has shown a steer in the Queen's Guineas Competition at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair on six occasions. In-1963 hé was on the second place beef team in the intei- club judging competitions at Mr. Wilson's experience in past summers includes one year on the Western Canada show circuit with E. P. Tay- lor"s Windfields Farm, two summers at Peel's Poultry Farm, and one summer with the Photographic Service of the Ontario Department of Agriculture and Food. At the last meeting Wed., April 24th it was decided to have a Pot Luck supper. Many members did not at- tend so this notice is put in news earlier to inform those . who couldn't attend. Pot Luck supper will be held on the day of our usual day for Club meeting, Wed., May 8, supper served at 5.30 p.m. a short business - discussion -after supper, following will --be-a sing song. Mr. Buckland has Kindly offered to-show some-of his slides, many taken on bus trips & etc. (please bring dishes) for each one. Fifty three members at- tended and discussed these plans and all were in favour of above mentioned. Differ- ent Committees presented their reports. Convention the (10th) for U.S.C.O. to be held at Waterloo this year usually 500 delegates and members attend. - Two delegates are to "be. chosen, from the Club (2 days end of July & August). Damage To Three Cars A 33-year-old Port Perry resident . has been charged with careless driving by the Whitby Ontario Provincial Police following a three-car collision on County Road 2 south of Port Perry in which total damage was estimated at $1,150. David Johnston, 121 Perry St., Port Perry, has been charged. His auto received damage estimated at $500. Katherine Boumans, 7, a-pas- senger in a car driven by her mother, received treatment at Port Perry Hospital for minor injuries received in the crash. The auto driven by her mother, Hazel Bou- mans, 27, of R.R. 3, Sunder- land, received $575 damage. Dennis Harold Wray 27, of 127 Simcoe St. S., Port Perry had minor damage of $75 done to his auto. Two May Qualify For Nomination The date for Ontario Rid- ing Progressive . Conserva- tives is still not definite. The executive will be meeting to decide to change the date May 31, decided before the June 25th election was call- ed.
