A 14 mile walk by 43 students and four teachers of the Port Perry High School boosted the Hospital Building Fund by $460. last week. The walkers started from the High School Wednesday at 3.30 p.m. and the first to arrive back at the school made it in less than 21; hours at 5.55 p.m. The latest arrival was at 8.55 p.m. Sore and blistered feet stopped two girls from making the return trip from Seagrave, and quite a number of marchers were nursing their feet afterwards. The participants all had someone sponsor their walk at so much per mile, and it is expected that the amount will pass the $500. mark when all is collected. Teachers and students fol. lowed by car, treated the walkers with chocolates, soft drinks and generally encouraged them to keep -up the PORT PERRY STAR -- Thursday, May 23, 1968 - 8 pace.
