The bus trip to Toronto with tours of Alan Gardens, Fred Victor Mission, City Hall, United Church House and Eaton Memorial Church. The Hydro Cooking School and Family Night at church were all reviewed. Mrs. Wright displayed a Florida Sand Dollar. A film "The Three Grand Mothers" of Africa, Winni- peg and Rio de Janiero was enjoyed and followed by a discussion. The worship was given by Mrs. G. Skelding from the theme, Grains and Drops stressing the little things to remember with scripture from Romans 12. She also read a fine poem on "Grandma". Following the offeratory prayer, meet- ing closed with Benediction. Mrs. H. Taylor and Mrs. J. Bradburn, ' hostesses, served a delicious lunch. ESTHER UNIT Mrs. Bill Ferguson was hostess for the Esther Unit on Tuesday evening when 11 ladies attended. Mrs. Bruce Mountjoy and Mrs. Harold McLaughlin gave the pro- gram from "The Art of Life its_aims and conflicts." The Scripture passage from Gal- ations 5 was followed by a discussion period on, Con- flicts of Loyalists. Business was dealt with & meeting closed with Bene- diction followed with delic- ious lunch and social time. No. more meetings of any units or general until Sept- ember. ST. JOHN'S ANNIVERSARY Sunday morning, Anniver sary Service was held in St. 'John's Church. Rev. R. C. Rose delivered an excellent sermon on, The Church of the Past and our duties for the Church of the 'Present and the Future. Mrs. R. C. of June. Rose and Mrs. S. Glass of Port Perry sang the duet, "God Reveals His Presence." Rev. Rose dedicated the new Hangings for the pulpit, Reading Desk and Lecturn which were donated by Mrs. Donneral. UNITED CHURCH At service in the United Church, Rev. Romeril preach- ed on "A House Divided", the choir sang the anthem, "I want to be Ready." 'Promotion exercises were held in Sunday School, Sun- day morning as each class was promoted they told of something they had learned during the year which was most interesting. Superin- tendant, Glenn Larmer led the worship and Mrs. David Kyte, Superintendant of the Primary department closed the Sunday School session with a closing prayer in song. A.C.W. MEETING The June meeting of the A.C.W. was held in the Par- ish Hall, Thursday evening, June 20. The hymn, "Thine forever, God of Love", was sung followed by a Devotion- al period of prayer and a lesson taken from the 4th chapter of St. John. = Mrs. Graham, president, welcom- ed Mrs. John Scott, a former member, and all present to the meeting. Donations were gratefully received from Mr. and Mrs. R. Wall, Mrs. Jos. Forder and Mrs. "Jas. Law- rence. The Sunshine and Family Life secretaries re- ported several cards sent. It was decided to hold a quilt- ing at our next meeting, on July 18. A committee of, Mrs. Jack Green, Mrs. N. Green and Mrs. H. Bailey were named to _buy carpet- ing for the Vestry which has been recently renovated. Announcements were made of our Anniversary Service, June 23, and of our Bake Sale on the Dysart lawn in Caesarea," June 29. A new hangers and markers, donat- ed by the Donnerals to the church were shown to the ladies. The meeting closed with the Benediction by Mrs. Graham after which a delic- jous lunch was served by |= Mrs. A. Beacock and Mrs. N. Green. The six with the highest points were the Furry Bears, Anne Marlow, sixer, Pattie Brian, Joanne Walters, Deb- bie McLaughlin. The best camper chosen by the lead- ers was Debbie McLaughlin. The best camp diary prize went to Cindy McColl. There 'was a tie of best. camper chosen by the Brownies of Cindy--McColl--and -- Sandra. Johnston. Everyone had a very good time. PERSONALS Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Jim Swain (nee Susan Wearn) who were married in Enniskillen church 'on Satur- day. A large number of rel- atives from this area attend- ed the wedding. Sympathy is extended the family of Mr. Sinclair Rob- ertson who passed away on Sunday morning.
