There were some odd-looking «| people around camp that day. On Friday the Guides hik- 'ed to Caesarea for fish and chips, pop, and an ice-cream. Mock trial was held that night. Everyone was accus- 'ed of some crime and given a punishment. The awards were also given that night: Best First Year Camper-- Cindy Van Camp Best All Round Camper-- Heather Dorrell and Janet Turner Friendliest Camper-- Susan McCall Best Patrol--Janice Crawford Mary Lou Malcolm, Wendy Lee, Cheryl Wright, Debbie Swain, Lynda Hoskin. There were six other awards: Leslie Wright -- Camping with the worst fire grate. Carol Hobbs--Bringing new ideas from Newcastle. Janis McLaughlin--Keeping 'Camp Happy Janice Crawford--Hard Worker. Cheryl Wright--Champion "Weed Puller. Tracy Stutt--Being patient - about getting to swim in deep water. The next day after the campsite had been cleaned, the Guides had a final swim before going home. All the Guides wish to thank the leaders for a enjoyable week at camp. They were: Captain Gwenyth Thompson Lieutenant Marie Robinson Cadet Linda Mountjoy Cadet Carol Werry Cadet Kay Porrill Mrs. Shirley Turner and Bill Thompson (Swimming Instructors). , The Cartwright Guides pre- sented Captain Thompson with a pair of Pillow Cases and the Guides from New- catle presented her with a brooch.
