Live- stock Judging Competition was held on Thursday, July 18th, in the Beaverton area. There were 26 contestants in this competition, with 8 of those competing for the first time. Each contestant was asked to judge, and place eight classes of livestock. Reasons were given on only one class of each kind of livestock. The. Senior Championship Trophy, donated by Stouff- ville Livestock Sales, went to Keith Phoenix, Greenbank who had 581 points of a pos- sible 600. The Junior Cham- ed by Stouffville Livestock Sales, went to Dale Feasby, Uxbridge, R.R. 1, with 556 points. The Junior Farmer Inter- Club Trophy, donated by Orvan Chambers, was won by | the Port Perry Junior Farm- ers. high novice competitor was won by Ricky Chomisky, Whitby, R.R. 2, who had 526 points. The high swine judge was Dale Feasby, Uxbridge, R.R. 1, who received the Dunrobin Swine Trophy donated by Major-General John A. Gunn. Elmcroft Farms, Beaverton, presented a Dairy Trophy to the high dairy judge--Keith : Phoenix, Greenbank. The Beef Trophy, donated Obituary MRS. MURIEL CHAMBERS Funeral Services were held in Guelph on Friday, July 12, for the late Mrs. Muriel Chambers of Port Perry. Mrs. Chambers died at Kingston General Hospital as the result of a car. accident on June 28th, 1968. Mrs. Chambers was born and raised in Guelph, and was very active in church ac- tivities throughout her life- time. She is survived by her hus- band, Jack Chambers of Port Perry and her children Bar- bara 12, Peter 9, David 7, Susan 2, all-at home. Also surviving is her mo- tleer, Mrs. Roy Schnurr of Guelph, three sisters Mrs. D. J. (Ruth) Miller, Toronto; Mrs. J. C. Rennie (Shirley) and Mrs. L. G. Young (Lois) both of Guelph. Mis. Chambérs was pre- deceased by her father Mr. Roy Schnurr, and a sister, Mrs. A. C. Hamill (Agnes). Pallbearers were associates of the Ralston Purina Com- pany - Mr. J. Mighton, Otta- wa; Mr. D. Kincaid, Belle- ville;, Mr. Peter Reagan, Tor- onto; Mr. G. Greenlees, Pus- linch; Mr. D. Brubacher, Barrie; Mr. J. Manning, Bur- lington.
