Dear Mr. Hvidsten: - There are still a lot of old grist and saw mills in opera- tion in Ontario. My interest is in finding out where some of them are so I can pursue my hobby of photographing and painting them. I have been told that there may be a number of such mills in the area around Port Perry and I wonder if you or some member of your staff might know the name and location of any. If you do, would you mind jotting down_ your information on the bottom half of this letter and returning it to me in the accompanying stamped and self-addressed envelope. This would save you the bother of having to write a letter. I hope this request does not inconvenience you too much. I've tried public and university libraries and other sources of information but there does not seem to be a list of mill locations on file anywhere. Cordially, J. W. Sargent Editor's note: . Anyone able to assist Mr. Sargent in his search for grist or saw mills in this area, please write him at the following address: 21 Redwing Place, Don Mills, Ont. Planning a picnic this week-end? Don't leave litter around roadside picnic areas. Not only does litter spoil others pleasure, but it costs money to clean up. Use De- partment of Highways litter barrels and help save your tax dollars. {TAKE NOTICE that the Reeves and Council of the Village of Port Perry | AND WHEREAS the Lieutenant Governor in Council for the Province of Ontario ha BUY -- SELL LAMBERT Dib va13 ~~ NOTICE!
