Romeril chose as the subject for his sermon "Lose Hunger; Lose God", stressing how easily we can lose our hunger for Church Services, ete. etc. and gradually grow away from God.= The choir sang an Anthem -- "Lift up you Voice". The Sacrament of Holy Communion was ad- ministered in both churches. Rev. R. C. Rose spoke on "Authority in the Church". Next Sunday, Thanksgiving --A Baptism service will be administered in the United Church The Anglicans will worship with the Anglicans in Port Perry. On Sunday, Oct. 6th, 12 members of the Hi-C joined about the same number of Young People in a "Walka- thon", We started at Port Perry, walked to Blackstock and then walked back to Port again. Ie we made approximately $225, perhaps more. We would like to thank the Hi-C counsellors who - had hot chocolate and cookies for us at Blackstock and the Young Pedple who sert for us at Port Perry. We're also very proud to .an- nounce that no one dropped out--everybody walked the 15 miles! "Progress means Digger cars that will go faster on better roads, driven by people who can "drink more; Progress taxes everything but the living breath of the poor, but encourages the boys with the expense accounts and credit cards to cheat. » This many seem like a pretty dim view of "pro- gress". It is, as many people look on it. But I'm not down _ on the real meaning of the word. I think man can and will progress morally, social- ly and intellectually. Oh, well, there's a rumor that the can people are go- ing to start putting their cans out in pastel colors. This would save a lot of bother. We could cut all our forests] down. Then, instead of go- ing for.a drive on a fall day . to see the magnificent au-| tumn foliage, we could have it all year 'round.
