Rev J: D. Ormiston, M.A., B.D. of Toronto was guest speaker, and gave a very interesting and informative address on the work of Operation Cross- roads, Africa. The choir ren dered two fine anthems, "0 Jesus King Most Wonderful" and "The Greatest Miracle." In the evening the C.E. centre was crammed for a Forum on Cross Roads Afri- ca. The Rev. P. Romeril op- ened with prayer and intro- duced Mr. Ormiston who spoke on its origin and pur- poses and future of Operat- ion Cross Roads. Miss Lorna Pierey of Rockdale College, Toronto, a Cross Roader in Nigeria in 1968 gave a facin- ating account of her exper- iences, illustrated by pictur- es. Several members of the Anglican church attended the - ecumenical 'service in the Anglican Church Port Perry Sunday morning. Mr. Brian Rabb, counsellor of the local Venture pack, was guest speaker to the 1st Cartwright Boy Scout Ladies Auxiliary. The meeting was held at the home of Mrs, Marie Crawford, Nestleton with the president, Mrs. Jean Adams in charge. Plans were made for a special evening in the Town- ship Hall in Blackstock for Nov. 19 at 8 pm. for the community, when Keith Dav- idson, the Uxbridge Florist, will demonstrate - arranging flowers and will discuss care of Christmas gift plants. The group enjoyed a bak- ing contest' conducted by Mrs. Gwen Malcolm before lunch. ' The students of Cartwright High School held their Sadie Hawkins Hallowe'en Dance on October 25, 1968.
