Mr. Keith David: son florist from Uxbridge demonstrated many floral ar- rangements which was very interesting. A very success. ful bake sale was held after the demonstration. 'All units of the U.CW. met this past week, Tuesday the Evening unit attended] ~'the Flower demonstration in- stead of a programme, then went to Mrs. Harold Me: Laughlin's for Bible Study, Worship and lunch. Wednesday morning the - Candace unit met at the home of Mrs. Roy McLaugh- lin. Mrs. Harold Kyte gave the Worship which was fol lowed by Bible Study. Mrs. Jim Marlow gave report of nominating committee for the unit. Officers for 1969 are Leader -- Mrs. Harold Kyte; Secretary--Mrs. Gord- on Strong; Treasurer--Mrs. Harry VanCamp. Mrs. Har old Martyn showed pictures of their trip last summer. 8 members, 4 visitors and 4 children attended. ~ The afternoon unit met in the Vestry Wednesday with » Mrs. Roy Taylor presiding and Mrs. C. Hill acting see- retary in the absence of both leader and secretary. Mrs. Taylor opened the meeting with a poem " 'Tis Winter Now". Mrs. Hill with the Prince Albort Pals 4-H CLUB MEETINGS - Meeting #3, October 26-- ¢ The President was in LJ charge. Meeting opened with the Lord's Prayer. Roll was called. Home Assignment taken up. The secretary read the minutes of the last meet- ing and were adopted by the president. All were pleased to have Mrs. Gatenby, Home Econo- mist at the meeting. How to do the Feather Stitch was taught and the uses of the Blanket Stitch discussed. Meeting closed with the 4-H Pledge. Meeting #4, November 2nd The meeting opened with » the President in charge. The Roll Call and Home Assign- ment was taken up. The sec- retary read the minutes of the last meeting and they were approved. Mrs. Pugh explained the uses of the, Feather Stitch and all learn- % the Daisy and Chain Stitch. . athe There was a 4-H Conven- tion held at the Royal York: ,Hotel. The Club was asked to attend and give the exhibit of the last unit, which was "Cereal Shelf". Panabaker was the commen tator of the exhibit. A parcel consist- ing of dishes, quilt linings, dry goods and cards was gratefully accepted from the late Mrs. John Carter's fam. ily.
