We were sorry that , some of the others could not be present: Mrs. Maude Travell, Mrs. Marion Carter, and Mrs. Marion Hughes on account .of illness, Mrs. Agnes Middleton, Mrs. Sandra Taylor Mrs. Marie Clark, Mrs. Evelyn Redman and Mrs. Hennie Jackson on account of incon- venience. The Christmas tree, gifts and decorations added much to the festive air. The ladies of "Grace" U.C.W. ~~ had arranged a beautiful table set- ting and served a bounteous and delicious dinner. After tables were cleared, a small amount of business was dis- cussed as there will not be another meeting before Jan. ~ Following the.candle-light- ing procedure to disclose the names of our Mystery Sisters, Mrs. Santa Claus bounded in to help distribute gifts for all. A skit enacted by 4 ladies from town with Mrs. Helen Redman, Mrs. and Mrs. Grace Love caused much hilarity. We didn't realize 2 of our municipal hopefuls had these |- extra talents. We enjoyed a couple of active contests mixers. After singing many Christmas Carols, the lights suddenly went out and 2 of our respected members, cost- umed and masked slid. in Joan Aldred quickly and stealithly and pro- cured many purses and a camera. As they disappeared Mrs. Grace Love was very successful in solving the crime by questioning witnesses and the culprits were good- naturedly caught and returned the goods. The whole evening was one of variety, and surely loosened up the laugh muscles. All the committee deserve thanks and appreciation for the plans and efforts put into the whole affair. © Recently Mr. & Mrs. Alex Porath and two ' sons of Combermere near Barrys Bay spent the week-end "with Donna's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Collins. Our sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Bert Johnson and family in the sudden passing of their little daughter Esther early Monday morning. Little John Manns seems to be feeling well after his operation "in the Oshawa Hospital. We hope he'll soon be home again. HOMES WANTED LA 985-7373 BE ESTATE LTD RT First of all, advice. . prosperity. H H One of the main events at the school this past month was the annual Sadie Hawkins Dance which was sponsored this year by the Athletic Soc- iety, Friday, November 22. The week of the 17 - 22 was declared Sadie Hawkins Week. During this' time, any girl brave enough to ask a boy to the dance was given the opportunity to do so. Kang- aroo Courts were held during the course of the week con- demning all boys guilty of the crime of turning down an invitation. A "Dogpatch" theme was used for dress and decoration, and mock mar- riages were one of the main attractions of the dance. All in all, this year's Sadie Hawk- ins Dance was a great success and those who attended had a good time.
