Christmas services in both churches were well attended Sunday. In the United the choir rendered the Anthem "Christmas Pastorale". Rev. P. Romeril chose as the theme for his impressive sermon, "Isn't Christmas a drag?" ) o This being Children's Day L in the Anglican Church, the regular service took a short- ened form, then all moved to the Parish Hall where a film of The Nativity was shown, and the children re- ceived their gifts from the "church. Altho the weather was very cold and streets and roads icy there was a fairly good attendance at the Christmas Eve Carol service ¢ in the United Church. Rev. P, Romeril read the Christ- - mas Story from Luke and Matthew, also three Christ- mas Poems from Eleanor Rosevelt's new book "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day", "The Ballad of the House- wife" and "A Carol for Child- ren" and gave a brief talk on "God is Love". Several also braved the cold and ice to attend the Christmas 10 a.m. service in St. John's Church. Carols were sung. Rev. R. C.
