Rice dedicated a new crystal communion cup or (chalice) which was kindly "| presented by Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Newnham. The minister announced that Mr. Hector Hodgins whom we are pleased had joined our membership roll via transfer from the con- gregation at North Cobalt. President, Joan (Mrs. Wes) Lane opened the meeting by giving a short reading and a welcome to all those pre- sent. The committee in charge for the evening were Mrs. Kay Walker, Mrs. Marjorie Rice and Mrs. Norma Forder. Kay conducted the devotion: al service which consisted of the singing of hymn 104, a reading with an Easter theme and a portion of scrip- ture -- John 20, 11 to 23. Marjorie introduced the 3rd and 4th chapters of our study book -- Man Alive. An active discussion--followed a period of pondering ques- tions raised in the book. An announcement was made of the next general meeting at the church -- a programme concerning can- cer, also an evening of music '| by th& Sweet Adelines later in April.
