Raines. The specifications were sent to various Fire Equipment companies as well as local truck dealers. The new com- mittee are asking for tenders from the local dealers on the truck only with a fire equip- ment company supplying the specially built tank and pump. They are also asking the com- panies to submit prices on the complete unit as well as just the tank and pump. Mr. William Brock, who has been actively involved in organizing this society said in an interview with the Star this week that the goal of the Historical Society, is the early establishment of a museum of local history, The museum will provide a permanent home for the many articles,docu- ments, photographs and rec- ords of our early years which can still. be found in local homes. Many of our citizens, Mr. Brock has found, are willing to' loan or donate such articles, provided that they are certain that they will be well - perserved and displayed in such a way as to be of permanent educational value to everyone in our community, Mr. Brock reports that Reeve Kenny of Port Perry has generously offered the former Police Headquarters in the Municipal offices as a temporary storage and work area for the society so that collection of items for the museum can begin soon. Citizens who will have items to contribute are invited to advise one of the individuals listed in the announcement ing throughout the Festival, which he felt was due to lack of careful, consistent class room singing. Damage In Two Car Crash A two car collision took place on March 29th, at 10:15 p.m. on Mary Street.in Port Perry causing an estimated $750.00 damage to both cars. A 1966 Pontiac owned by Everett Jeffery, 70, of 66 Lilla Street, Port Perry was parked on Mary Street when it was struck by 'a 1963 Meteor, driven by William Fines 20, of 431 Montrose Avenue, Oshawa, Damage. to the Jeffrey car was $450.00 and $300.00 to Fines car. Wins Tournament A Junior judo tournament was held recently at Maple Leaf Judo Club for all Junior Divisions of the club in the Oshawa area. More than 90 Junior Judokas participated.
