The marriage took place on Saturday, April 5, 1969, at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. C. Brown ceremony. The singers were Nancy Warren. They sang "The Wedding Prayer" during the signing of the register. They were accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Bruce Currie of Cresswell who played "O before the ceremony. Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a full length gown of satin and lace, featuring a scalloped edging square neckline, empire bod- ice and lily point sleeves, all accented with two bands of lace. Complimenting the gown was a train of satin with lace edging, attached at the waist- line by-a bow. A headpiece ecently Married In Cresswell = Easter lilies was the setting of lace petals trimmed with crystal and seed pearls held her bouffant veil of silk illus- ion. She carried a cascade of pink delight roses and steph- anti.) Mrs./ Shirley Jewell, sister- in-law. of -the bride; was matron of honor and the bridesmaids = were, "Bonnie Cawker, sister of the groom and Elizabeth Soare, friend of both bride and groom. They were identically ' gowned in floor length gowns of rose satin with round neck- lines, short sleeves and was attached by two bows at the back "neckline. Their head- pieces .were two roses with short veils of the same ¢ - as their dresses." They wor hi short white gloves, whi satin shoes and carried colon- ial nosegays of tinted pink daisies." - They wore heart- shaped rhinestone necklaces, their gift from the bride. Joel Cawker, was best man for his brother, and the ushers were Irvine Jewell, brother of the bride and Charles Hastings, cousin of the groom.
