Harding who have re- tired to Little Britain, This gathering was held in the church = basement where about 60 friends had assem. bled: The early (middIN by- time) part of the evening was spent in euchre & other games. Winners were Mrs. Clements and Art Gordon and consolation prizes went to Mrs. McNeil & Fred Nobbs. Later Cliff Short as M.C. called Mr, and Mrs, Harding to the seats of honour and read -an address after which they were presented with a swivel rocker and a hamper. Both Mr. and Mrs. Harding expressed their thanks and then lunch was served. Two of the couple's 8 child- ren, Mrs. Brown (Thelma) of Varney, Ont. and George of Whitby were able to attend with their partners and some of their families. The new owner of the Har- ding farm is Mr. Foster who specializes in Hereford cattle. Wednesday was U.C.W. night and was also Little Bri- tain Field Day. 'We have never won in that contest, yet. There were only 12 'members present to greet the guest speaker, Mrs. A. Nicholls who had a splendid message prepared on "Faith, Hope and Love". The re- mainder of - the devotional was conducted 'by Mrs. Me- Neil, Mrs. Tobin and Mrs. Hurst . * Business consisted of com- mittee reports, correspond- ence and announcements most of 'which was entirely routine. The ladies agreed to cater to a wedding in Sep- tember and also to making a $200 donation to the board of stewards for carpet ex- Penses, : © Mrs. Belair conducted a contest while lunch was be- ing prepared. The -annual Short picnic was held in Poplar Park, Pt. Perry on Sat. There was a good turn-out and a good pro- gram but the weather was A bit chilly for sitting around. Oshawa this week with her daughter-in-law and grandson while son P.C. Jimmy is tak- testing. Mr. and Mrs. Belair spent the week-end baby sitting at the Brinkman home in Port Perry, while Robert &' Mary were attending a re-union of 1964 graduates at the Ontario Hospital in Brockville. Mr. and Mrs. H. Zolitz are zipping around in fine style getting ready to leave on July 3rd for a vacation in\ Germany. It is "out again, in again" for Mr. Ralph Reynolds who had to return to hospital last week for further treatment. Several interested families attended decoration services at'McNeil Cemetery, Wick on Sunday afternoon. Follow- ing the seryice Mr. and Mrs. J. MacTaggart entertained Messrs. Garnet & Hugh Mac- Taggart of Whitby, Mrs. Rus- sel Sparling of Peterboro and relatives from Scarborough and Brampton. Our church and S.S. are having their annual post-|an- niversary slump. = Neither service had anything to crow about as regards attendance. At church there was no choir number and no printed ' programs and at S.S. no pro- gram number and no birth- days. . ~ Summer schedule with morning service. for. Pinedale is now in operation, which means a minister mix-up: Mr. Critch served at Seagrave this week and Mr. McNeil at Pinedale. Next Sunday Sea- rave will be back 'to old times with Mr, McNeil in the pulpit. , This Friday evening at 8.30 the Golden Keys Organ Club from the Oshawa dist- riet will present an cvening of music inthe church. We are told they will be bring ing three organs with them and quite a number of the members will give numbers. Lucky number prizes will be records. .
