Not on the staff of the Star, but always willing -to- pitch in: when" necessary, Arnold Roach took this picture on Saturday night. - : : py ol One of the main projects of the Lions Club is restoration of eye sight, The campaign during the Home Show was entirely aimed in this direction. The Eye Bank of the Canad- ian Institute for the Blind assisted in providing literature and pledge cards, and the members of the club "sold'"' public the idea of willing their eyes to the Eye Bank. On display was a "refrigerator" purchased by the. local Lions Club. Following the Home Show it was placed in the hospital for protection and transportation of eyes pledged to the Eye Bank. Present at the Lions Club booth to- receive the "refrigerator" was B.A. - "Bohan, hospital "administrator. Mr. Bohan, at right in the picture is seen pointing at the _ "refrigerator". Next is Pete Petrozzi,-a-member-of the club; who spent a fot of time at the booth," Lion president Gord Prentice, and Joe Dowson, member of the Hospital Board. The effort on part of the Lions can only be termed as a success when over 30 persons willed their eyes to the Eye Bank. The Historical Society had one of the most popular booths at the Home Show. In a very short time, members managed to acquire a number of items from "the old days", to make the booth appear much. like a museum. The ladies attending the booth were. all dressed in costumes from, the early days of Canada. In the picture are Constance «Snowdon and Mrs. J.
