Cornish Public School-- If you should own a bicycle you should obey the "safety. rules and not try to be a smarty and ride your bicycle with no hands down main street. Remémber saf- ety is for .you so follow the rules carefully and If you happen to ride at night have your bicycle well equipped with the necessary lights and tapes. Don't even ride at night with no lights on your bicycle, it is a hazard for drivers as well as yourself. A vehicle coming at top speed can't see you and most likely won't be able to stop until he is upon you. Riding single file down the street is also important when riding with buddies. If five or six of you are stret- ched across the street, fast moving vehicles will try to stop and most likely the vehicle behind it will crash 'into the vehicle ahead and so on, causing a chain-reaction of cars and trucks to crash and bang into one another and it | would be all your fault. So play it safe and ride single' file down the street and then there will be no more accidents that-are your fault; oa Riding on the right side of the street is important because you can see the cars and they can see you, See that your bicycle is in "top condition. Have excellent brakes, well inflated tires, good steering, a chain guard and handlegrips. Riding down the street as fast as you can go and discovering you have no brakes when you go to put them on is very dangerous. Knowing"your hand signals isa mus turning into 'a street make sure yo These are but a few of the safety rules that are written here. Follow them carefully. If you feel that you don't' need them and won't use them, it' s your life you're play- safety rules you will lead 'a safer and happier life. : . "When you are give the right So if you will follow these possible counted just as strongly as price in awarding the tenders; this will enable the board to evaluate the service of ag any firms as possible, and set "suitable standards for next year. The cafeteria prices will vary from one schodl to another, but Mrs. Vierin said that prices for basic items will be almost the same throughout the county. The caterers are required to oper- ate without subsidy, and any Obituary GEORGE BRATLEY On Sunday, June 23rd, Mr, George Bratley - of Scugeg Island passed away in Port Perry Community Hospital, Mr. Bratley had been in failing health for almost five years.
