~ Young People Of Area Exchange MURPHY - LEE Vases of hot pink carnat- ions and arrangements of pink gladioli backed with candel- abras decorated the Green- bank Unitéd Church on July 19th when Beatrice Lorraine Lee, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Lee, Greenbank was united . in--marriage to Mr. Edward (Ted) Frederick Mur- phy,son of Mr. and Mrs. John Murphy, Uxbridge. The Rev. L. Critch per- formed the double ring cere- mony. Mrs. Bruce 'Kubbinga played the wedding music and Mrs. David Lee was soloist singing The Lord is My Sheph- erd and O Lord Most Holy. Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a gown of white organza over taffeta with an empire waist, high neck and short sleeves. The gown was trimmed around the sleeves and down the front with french gaupre lace appli- que and a small bow at the bust line. A chapel length train with the same trim fell softly from her shoulders. A head- piece of white velvet flowers immed with crystal and seed pearls held her shoulder length veil of silk iHusion. She carried a cascade bouquet of pink delight roses and steph- anotis. : Mrs. Alan Ball was matron of honour for her sister and the bridesmaids were Miss Marion Buttery, friend of the bride and Miss Debbie Lee, niece of the bride. They wore turquoise sleeveless gowns of terrylene crepe fashioned with a mandarin neckline trimmed with venice lace. The empire bodice was banded with-lace weayed with a ribbon of-same fabric brought to a bow at the back, Miss - Debbie Colton, niece of the groom was flower girl in a matching dress. The HILLIER On Saturday, July 5th at Port Perry United Church, Reverend Jack Griffen per- formed the marriage of Sharon Dorothea Eade and Raymond Edward Hillier. The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Myrtle Eade, Whitby, and -the groom the son of, Mr. and Mrs, Douglas Hillier, Port Perry. The church was decorated with standards of pink glad- ioli. The solists were Miss Debbie Griffen and Miss Nancy Warren, accompanied by the organist Mrs. Gloria Forder. Given in marriage by her brother Mr. Willis Eade, Oshawa, the bride wore. a floor length gown of white crepe trimmed with wide medallion lace and long flow- ing train. Her elbow length veil was styled in nylon tulle featuring a Juliet cap head- piece covered in the same lace as the gown. She carried a bouquet of miniature carnat- ions, yellow daisies and steph- anotis. - EADE Mrs. Jody Smith acted as matron of honour for her sister and her daughter Laurie as flower girl. = The other bridesmaids were Miss Barbara Hillier, Port Perry, Miss Pat- ricia Woodward, Bowmanville, niece of the bride and Miss Joanne Shaw of Port Perry. They all looked lovely in their floor length gowns of] brightly flowered chiffon over yellow taffeta with wide brimmed picture hats covered in the same materials. They carried bouquets of pink dais- ies with yellow centres. Mr. Grant Dawson, Port Perry, acted as best man while the ushers were Mr. Steven Hillier, Mr. Larry Davidson, Mr. John Barton all of Port Perry. The male members of the wedding party were attired in white dinner jackets and black trousers. The reception was held at the church recreation centre. The mother of the bride looked attractive in her dress of pale green' chiffon with PORT PERRY STAR -- Thursday, Aug. 28, 1969 -- 17 Wedding Vows beaded bodice and green accessories. Her corsage con- sisted of white mums and yellow rose buds. The mother of the groom looked lovely in a yellow dress of chiffon with accordian pleated skirt and sleeves and white acces- sories. Her corsage was made of white mums and burnt orange rose buds. Guests attended from Oshawa, Whitby, Bowman- ville, Seagrave, Port Perry, Hamilton, Niagara Falls, North Bay, Lindsay, Royal Oak, Michigan and Taylor, Mich- igan. Mr. and Mrs. Hillier are now residing at 231 Water Street, Port Perry. bridal attendants all wore Tom Jones bow headpieces and carried cascades of soft pink miniature carnations. Mr. Gene More, friend of the groom acted as best man while Mr. George Lee, brother of the bride and Mr. Gary Coppins, friend of the groom ushered. The men were attired in black Mexican tuxedos. At the reception in the church basement the bride's mother received the guests wearing a. dress of turquoise nylon lace over taffeta with soft pink accessories and a corsage of pink rosebuds. She was, assisted by the groom's mother in a coral crimplene dress with navy accessories and a white orchid corsage. For a honeymoon trip to the east coast the bride chose a-mint-green-crimplene dress with cut out lace trim, yellow accessoriesand a yelloworchid corsage. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Murphy will reside in Oshawa. Miss Barbara Taylor was the soloist accompanied by Miss Victoria Gerrow. Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a full- length A-line dress - with empire waist and matching length train of appliqued lace on nylon Pk h{ - BRIGHT georgette. The bodice of chantilly lace was trimmed with pearls and sequins. and 'highlighted by bellsteeves. Her headdress of white flowers trimmed with pearls held a three-tiered elbow length veil of nylon tulle. She carried a bouquet of white mums and stephanotis with a mauve orchid. Her heirloom article was a handkerchief sent from France during World War I by her grandfather, the late Mr. Harry Aselstine. Ly Miss Penelope Bright was maid of honor for her sister and Misses Cynthia Walter, Janis Carter "and" Kimberly Neill were bridesmaids dressed in'identical full length dresses of layander lace over poie d charm with a wedding ring collar and frilled elbow length sleeves. Their headpieces con- sisted of a frill of matching poie de charm and white flowers. They carried cascades 'of white and mauve mums. . Paul Solomon was -best man with Gary Lytle, Robert Walker Jr. and William John Bright Jr. acting as ushers. The reception was held at the United Automobile Work- ers' Hall with Mr. George Beare and his orchestra rend- ering the music for the dance. For the honeymoon trip the bride wore a white crimp- lene dress with frilled inserts in the sleeves. The collar and cuffs were trimmed with black scallops, white accessories completed the outfit. --e Mr. and Mrs. Walker will reside at 362 Elgin Court Apt. 3, in Oshawa.
