The article went on to say --**Santa's sleigh was in regular use during Ontario winters about 60 years ago and his "Horse" was a wooden model for saddlery about 100 years back." "I - picked them up at country auctions," their own-' er, John Brown said. "The sleigh came from" Stouffville and the horse from Port Perry." : Mrs. Hazel Slemmon, daughter of Mr. Cyril Jeffrey of Jeffrey and Taylor was able Brown through the Rosedale-Moore Park _Association, and from there the trail Ted to the firm .of -J.W. Barrington and Son, Saddlery, on Front Street, Toronto, where the horse is still in use as a model. In an interview this week, Mr. Barrington informed the society that he agrees that the future home of the horse should be Port Perry, although he is reluctant to lose such a unique. attraction to his own business premises. He feels that due to the age of the horse it would be wise to keep it where it is until the Society has adequate facilities to store and display it. In the mean- time he will look out for a horse to take its place in his store although these are hard to findand command premium prices. He said that he would "welcome anyone from the district who would like to see the horse again for old time's sake. His store is at 61 Front Street just east of Yonge in Toronto. Free.
