¢ iil bani la dill ' Seagrave This is our week to eat crow. By failing to hear the announcement for 10 o'clock rally, we used the printed one & were wrong. We hope .no one believed us. That rally took place as a joint. service planned along the lines of the regular church worship but with the , younger S.S. members taking part (mostly). That meant that besides the regular or- ganist we had 3 pianists -- one for each hymn. Other young people were ushers, read scripture, led in prayer, gave announcements etc. The Guest Speaker was Mr. Jack Shearer of Oshawa, a worker in Christian Education for the Pentecostal Church there. Seagrave got its first taste of modern worship when before hi$ address Mr. Shearer led in guitar music and had a puppet answering questions. Mr. Critch had the pleasure COMPLETE L REAL ESTATE "REAL ESTATE LID -R1ALIOS of giving out the attendance awards 'and shaking hands with the recipients. Mrs. To- bin wasn't there to receive her seal. The big Coxworth - Tobin wedding took place on Satur- day afternoon at 3 o'clock with over 100 guests present. Rev. L, Critch performed the double-ring ceremony, Mrs. Chas. Short was at the organ and Mr. Bruce Carr sang two nice solos. It was all nicely planned and carried out. We wish Dane & Maureen all the best. While not attempting to name the wedding guests we note that Mr. and Mrs. Adam Wallace of Bolton remained with Mr. and Mrs. Keen over the week-end. Mrs. R. But- ler of Orillia remained with the Tobins, Mr. and Mrs. Belair were Sunday dinner guests of the Robt. Brinkman family . in Port Perry. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Scott en- tertained Mr. and Mrs. Doug- las Rutherford of New Lis: keard for several days last week. Mr. Rutherford and Roy were buddies away back in World War I; News Mr. and Mrs. Walter King have returned from their trip through Northern Ontario, They were away about a week, Mrs. MacTaggart came back on Saturday and can be found at her old home. Mr. and Mts. Ian Fraser of Willowdale were with Mr. & Mrs. Neil Wanamaker again over the week-end. On Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Don Hunter accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. 'Neil Hunter. were in Scarborough helping Mrs. Hunter Sr. celebrate her 75th birthday. Bill Wanamaker and Gene Hurst were with a losing ball team on Saturday but that didn't worry them as much as the fact that a team-mate Gerry Hunter was 'injured and had to be taken to hos- pital. ] We haven't been writing about Bethel Cemetery this summer but now that fall has come, we must commend Mr. Gregg for the way he has kept the grass cut. We are asked to remind the Brownie and Guide Mo- thers of their meeting to be held at the Church on Oct. 1 28 IN TF, FY id td Sd VS UA 2 A PLD ES TPS ER BRR BORG TEN VES!) Members of Seagrave group of Ontario County Co-Op (Me- dical) have been inquiring why. they have not been bill- ed as yet for. the coming |, year. We are told that they (the bills) will come and that the hold-up is due to the change to OHSIP. All group secretaires are retired so members will deal directly 'with the Co-Op. Next Sunday we mark the 62nd anniversary of the-.op- ening of the present Church. The congregation has been in existence about 100 years. The exact date is uncertain but thought to be in the late 1860's. Our own minister Rev. L. Critch will be the speaker for the service.
