It had been decided that the 1968 General Council of the ordained minister of a Pastoral Charge paying the minimum salary, or more, but whose "appropriate salary responsibility" was yet below the minimum salary = plus increment to which the min- ister was entitled, would receive the increment, or the balance of it not paid by the Charge, from the United Church as a whole: It was established that Self Support- ing Pastoral Charges whose ministers received the Incre- ment or any part, thereof from the United Church as a-whole would still be consid- ered to be Self Supporting Charges. We discussed good grooming habits and made notes on personal gro- oming and complexion care. Our fourth meeting was at Nancy Webster's. Three ladies (Mrs. Ruby Williams, Mrs. Anne Horne, Mrs. Hazel Brooks) came to this meeting and. showed the girls two different hairstyles for long hair. They answered any questions about hair that we might have, Our mothers also attended this meeting. The General Council of 1968 decided to introduce the Salary Increment Principle in recognition of the years of service rendered by the active ordained ministers. Appointed to the position of Convener of the Audio Visual Committee was Mrs. Edna Spence of Cambray. Mrs. Spence will supervise the loan of film-strips to Pastoral Charges or such church groups as wish' to use them. The filmstrips are part of an' Audio Visual Library owned by the Lindsay Presbytery to which the Presbytery voted another fifty dollars. LADY MOTORISTS AND MEN MOTORISTS TOO! & Holstein Championship Show In Peterborough, 165 Entries The 28th Annual Holstein Championship Show for East- Central Ontario district was held October 15th.at Peter- borough, with 165 head shown by 53 exhibitors from ten countries. This show brought together for regional compet- ition the top prize winners from the County Black and White Days. Romandale Farms, Union- ville, Ontario, won both the Premrier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor awards, with Roy Ormiston, Brooklin, the runner-up for Premier Breeder and Glenafton Farms, Allis- ton, the runner-up for Premier Exhibitors. N Romandale Farms showed the Senior and Grand Champ- ion female, winning this hon- our with Romandale Reflect- ion Haidee, who headed the aged cow class; Judge E.A. Innes, Brantford, described her as an outstanding dairy animal, stylish and clean cut, with a top - quality udder. The Reserve Grand Champ- jonship went to the winning three-year-old, Comtoise Mym Supreme, shown by Glenafton Farms, Alliston, and bred by Edgar Comtois, Victoriaville, Que. Judge Innes comment- ed on her strong top and well attached, excellent quality udder.
