We wish to express our apprec- iation to Myrtle Manns and Joyce Heayn for arrangement and to Grace Love and Clara Dowson for the well prepared program. : On the following Sunday six small children were presented by their parents for Holy Baptism at Church. They were the children of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Chandler, Mr. and Mrs. Glen Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. Norman Tripp, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Chandler and Mr. and Mrs. Jim Ballingall. Allan ~~ Bertrand, now a councillor, lost his seat and a third newcomer, Vaughan Deacon was unsuccessful in his bid for a position on the council. Topping the polls was Fred Christie, 583 votes; 'Armour McMillan 527; Arthur Catton, 463; Vaughan Deacon, 230; Allan Bertrand, 209. Mrs. Lucille Gray, member of council for the last five years including deputy-reeve for one year was successful in her bid for the seat. She received 467 votes against her opponent Allan Crosier's 381. Mr. Crosier was a councillor during the last two-year term, Mrs. Gray topped the polls in the 1967 election for councillors, Following the death of deputy-reeve, Chester Geer about a year ago, Mrs. Gray was appointed to that position for the balance of the term.
