It was a good hard checking game with the Fla- mingos coming home with a 9-3 win. Port only had 9 players out, this was a little discouraging, but the boys played a terrific game. Glenn Geer started out the scoring to pick up 3 goals & 3 assists with Bruce Fergus- son getting 2 goals and 1 as- sist and Earl Phoenix scor- ing 1 goal and Glen Sweet- man, Roger Moase picking up assists. Woodville Mar- oons tried but could only|g tally 2 goals. In the 2nd period Roger Moase and Glen Sweetman combined twice to add 2 goals and 2 assists, while Woodville couldn't count. The 3rd period Port play- ers were getting tired and only added 1 goal for Glenn Geer with Ron Jeffrey get- ting an assist. Woodville answered with one marker. Penalties in this third period kept the scoring down. By the time you read this report games with West Rouge and Stouffville will have been played and will be waiting for another encoun- ter with Uxbridge on Dec. 17. Hope to see some new faces and more fans at this one. * * * NOVICE ALL STARS Tripp Construction had a good week-end with a win over Peterborough on Friday night, Dec. 5th and another over Bowmanville Saturday afternoon. On Friday night at the local Port Perry arena Uxbridge Arena ADULT SKATING Sat., Dec. 13, 8.30 - 10.30 HOLIDAY each Afternoon 2-4 p.m, SKATING During Holidays Compliments -- Thurs, Dec, 25 Free Skating 1-4 pm, Jack Bookham '| Perry arena. they beat Peterborough 2 to 1. The first period went scoreless with both teams do- ing some excellent checking backed up by good goaltend- ing. Peterborough's Doug Rotock opened thie scoring at the 7:00 minute mark of the second period. Port had some fine chances but just couldn't put it in the net. At the start of the third period Port came out all fired up. Bradly Black scor- ed at the 7:00 minute mark to tie the score with assists going to Kevin Marten's and Stephen Hawes. From then on it was Port Perry all the way, as they kept Peterbor- ough tied up in their own end. Jan Ashbridge scored what turned out to be the winning goal at the 11 min- ute mark with assist going to John Waters. The boys kept skating and checking hard till the buzzer went to end the game. On Saturday Tripps Const. travelled to Bowmanville and it was almost like a carry over from the night before. They kept checking and skat- ing hard to prevent Bowman- ville from scoring. Robert Evans had a good day with two goals assisted by Phil Cochrane both times. Colin Wacket had one goal, assist going to Richie Lafort. The scorers for ;Bowman- ville were Preston, assisted by Farrow, then Farrow on a penalty shot. The final score Tripp's 3, Bowmanville 2. On Your Paper TUESDAY, DEC. 2nd Stouffville B's vs. Port Perry Midget B's, Port Perry won 6 to 3 on a great come from behind effort as Stouffville held a 3 to 1 lead at one time. 1st Period Ls At 4:26 F. Hill put Stouff- ville ahead 1-0 and within five minutes B. Thompson made it 2-0 for Stouffville at 15:11. C. Waters scored for Port on a pass from G. Le- Fort with both teams short handed. In the second period W. Winn took just 20 seconds to put Stouffville ahead 3-1. But Port was not to be de- nied and as the. Stouffville team had a man in the pen- alty box R. Campbell scored a powerplay goal with an as- sist going to C. Cochrane. Less than 2 minutes later at 4:31 S. Tomchishin tied it at 3-3 with assists going to Campbell and Cochrane. The period ended in a tie. In the third period Port started to come through with the power as they potted 3 unanswered goals to win go- ing away. C. Deeth from Le- Fort and Waters got the 1st one then Bob Young from Cochrane made it 5 to 3 for Port. Then C. Waters got his second of the night on pass- es from Young and Deeth. Port had 10 penalties, 8 for Stouffville. This game finished with a needless brawl and there could be players suspended if this should happen again. * * * TUESDAY, DEC. 2nd Port Perry Cy Wilson's Mustangs Defeated Bay™ Ridges 9 to 4 ' Port Perry dominated play throughout. 'the game and took a big lead im:the first period, then coasted home a winner. M. Adamson started the game off for the Mustangs with a goal at the 21 second mark. At 3:51 B. Jeffrey scored on a pass from N. Mec- Laughlin with both {eams shorthanded. C. Dupont scored then for Bay. Ridges during the same penalties to make it now 2-1 for Port. P. Just nineteen sec- onds later Hescoch scored for Bay Ridges and closed the gap to 7 to 4. Heard got his second of the night at 11:51 with both teams a man short. Kane rounded out the scoring at 16:51 on a power play when Heard set 'him up for the final score.
