Q i 'Seagrave News The jolly old elf arrived as per schedule at Seagrave store on Saturday afternoon. He cruised in by snowmobile . and handed out candy bags to about 200 children. One of the three students from Dur- 2am College assisting the Wanamakers was an enthus- iastic camera man so he added a new twist to the visit by taking pictures of the children with Old Santa. During the proceedings two characters dressed as Christmas elves arrived quite . unexpectedly from Oshawa and kept every- pone, including the grocer guessing, Adults hanging around consumed about 100 cups of coffee. ". While he was in the village Santa and his followers called at the bazaar being held by the Guides and gave them a lift. Another big event for the children was the annual Christ- mas Pageant presented at the church on Sunday night. Perhaps = pageants are old- fashioned but they certainly still have a value in teaching the Christmas story. In spite of the foul weather the attend- ance was good and so was the pageant by the young- sters. Mrs. Barr, Mrs, Bruce and Mrs. Long with the co- operation of organist Mrs. Short and Supt.
