The boys played a good game but lost 7 to 3. On Friday December 19 Lind- say came to Port and this time the local boys showed them how to play hockey. Colin Wackett opened the ' scoring at the 10:30 mark with assist going to Ian Ashbridge, At the 30 second mark of the second period Bob Sinclair tied it up for Lindsay. At 4:50 Doug Brown made it 2 to 1 for the visitors. Little Mike McQuade tied it up at the 11:00 minute mark with help from Robert Evans. Again at the 30 second mark of the third period Lind- say's Philip Hennessy put them ahead 3 to 2. With 38 minutes left to play Port pulled the goalie and at 12:40 Robert Evans tied the score with Ed Olsen getting the assist. With 10 seconds left to play Kelly Reese scored unassisted to give Port the win 4 to 3. After the game Mr. and Mrs. Fred Olsen invited the boys to their home for a Christmas party. A good time was enjoy- ed by the boys. On Saturday Tripp's travel- led to Bowmanville and once more showed Preston's Movers how to play. At one time Port led 3 to 0 but let up enough that Bowmanville tied the 'score. = Then the boys played the way we know they can. Stephen Jones had a hat 'trick getting 3 for Port, Philip Cochrane came close with 2. Final Score Port 5 -- Bowman- ville 4. PORT PERRY MIDGET (B) On Tuesday December 23 Port Hope travelled to Port Perry to take on the local B team. Port Hope opened the scoring at the 11:01 mark with" Randy Osland getting the goal. At the 11:48. Jim Green scored for Port-Hope and at 15:30 Port Hope again scored with Rick Fox getting the goal. Dale Bronson finally put Port. Perry on the score- board at the 16.49 mark. At 1:57 of the second period Cam Deeth scored and it look- ed like our boys had come to life. However Port Hope scor- ed two more goals one at 9:46 from Chris Snell the other at 11:45 for Glen Daucett. At 12:16 Rick Campbell, put some life back in the team then at 13:03 Roland Skinner kept them moving. At 2:34 Port Perry again scored this time Cal Cochrane getting the goal. Port Hope's Chris Snell scored at the 15:27 mark making it 6 to 65. Cam Deeth scored his second goal of the night at 16:02 to tie the score 6 all and this was the way it ended. It puzzles me how some of these boys stand arotind out there on the ice with the feeling they don't have to work. This is a good team" and if every player gave his best they would be pretty hard to beat. Let's hope they change.
