A favourable attendance turned out Christmas Sunday to listen to an inspiring mess- age delivered by our minis- ier Rev. M. Reeves. The choir rendered special music. A lovely duet, by two of our young ladies Misses Denise Jeffrey and Jean Snelgrove accompanied by Mrs. Snel grove, organist. Offering ga- thered by Mr. A. Martyn and Mr. 'H. Hodgins. A few: days previous to Christmas one of our young presschool-age boy Russell Jones had the misfortune to fall in the barn. He was rushed to Sick Kids' Hospi- tal, Toronto, where it was learned he had suffered head injuries and was forced to remain. We are all glad to learn he is now home doing + satisfactory. One of our village hockey player's Edward Olsen thoughtfully entertained the "Tripp Construction Novice Hockey" team and coaches which totalled near twenty. The party makers all agreed a hearty appreciation was due the Olsen family in gen. -aral for their generous hos. pitality. Word has been received of Lhe passing of a former resi dent of our village of many _years ago of Mrs. Arthur "Flossie" Bond, Toronto. The U.C.W. held their Christmas meeting on Mon- day evening, Dec. 15, in the church parlors. President Mrs. T. Hodgins extended a welcome to every- one especially the visitors. Following the first hymn the president read an appropri- ate piece of poetry "Keep Christ in Christmas" follow: New Years Message Continued . Indeed all signs point to our province enjoying new benefits and prosperity in 1970. So I hope you will - join me in welcoming the start of a new decade. By working together and explor- ing new horizons, we. can make the new year oné of the most satisfying and bountiful ever.
