President Mrs. Velva Bailey presided for the business which included the voting of a $10.00 donation to the extension of the Home Economics Building at the Guelph University. Mrs. M. Graham was in charge of the Mrs. George Skelding took the motto "In- vest your. time instead of spending it". The roll call, "Name an industry which I would like to visit" was well answered. A reading, Middle Age by Edna Jacques was read by Mrs, P. VanCamp. Mrs. F. Hoskin gave an in- teresting resume of her re- cent trip to Florida. Mrs. M. The new course is "Separates for Summer" and it is planned to have three clubs in Black- DAN stock 'stock this session. Karen Kyte is staying with her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Roy McLaughlin while her mother. is in hospital with new baby brother. The January meeting of the Candace Unit of the U.C.W. met at the home of Mrs. Gordon Paisley on Janu- ary 6th. The Worship was in charge of Mrs. Wm. Ma- haffy who gave timely thoughts for the beginning of the New Year. During the business it was voted to change the date of the meet-|. ing to the first Tues. of the month. The unit will hold a Bake Sale at the General Meeting on January 20, the proceeds of which to supple- ment Lorna Wright's bank account. For the programme, Mrs. Harold Kyte, read inter- esting items from previous reports suggesting worth- while projects for the future. Mrs. Luther Mountjoy fell and suffered a broken hip. She is in Oshawa Hospital & would welcome any mail from this area. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ferguson and family spent from Friday to Sunday in the Norwich area. On Saturday, they at- tended the wedding of her| brother, Mr. Hugh McKee & Miss Shirley Tovey in the Fairfield United Church. Al- lan Ferguson was a member of the wedding party acting as ring-bearer. Mrs. W. W. VanCamp was able to leave Port Perry Hospital on the week-end and is spending the week with Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Say- well and Miss Helen Van- Camp in Oshawa. Mrs. Donald Green return- ed home from Oshawa Gen- eral Hospital with her baby daughter on Saturday. Mrs. Cecil Hill has left Port Perry Hospital and is with her daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Stan Rahm.
