Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Thomp- son and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kyte spent the week-end in Lively, Ontario participating Friendly Visitors Volunteer Group Had Busy Season The Friendly Visitor Vol- unteer Group held a very pleasant Valentine Party in Community Centre. Games; Valentines and lunch were enjoyed by all. The group appreciates the assistance contributed during the past year. Special lun- ches and outings have been much appreciated. To those who are not fa- miliar with the work with in Homes for Special Care", the work in- volves 7 residents in Prince Albert, 5 from Myrtle and 3 from Wick. On Oct. 28th a good Shia noon was enjoyed in the hall with a sing-song and dance and 'entertained -a group of 40 from the Whitby area. During Nov. & Dec. crafts and games were enjoyed. At the Christmas party the Christmas story was present- In Jan. the residents and} some volunteers visited and brought happiness to Homes in Claremont. Later in Jan. Valentines were made for the party 'held on Feb. 10th, The work with the Resi- dents in Homes for Special Care brings much happiness in a Curling Banspiel. The monthly meeting of the 1st Cartwright Ladies' Auxiliary was held February 5th at'the home of Joan Gra- ham with 10 members pre- sent. Meeting was opened with the Scout Mother's pro- mise followed by the min- utes of the last meeting. Correspondence was read out of which the matter of pay- ing. $1.00 registration fee to the Provincial Committee came up. It was moved by Rikka Wygerde and seconded by Marjorie Fudge that we would pay it. Carried. Pat Sleep expressed her thanks to all who helped in any way with the lunch at the dance on January 31st. It was de- cided to not have a .pro- gramme committee, but in- stead the executive would put on anything special that might come up or fill in with something if we had a short meeting at any time. From now on, our meetings are scheduled for 8:15 p.m. Next meeting will be at the home of Rikka Wygerde on March 5th. This includes the annual parade with beau- tiful floats made of flowers and the typical rural scene of fields of all kinds of spring flowers. The two public speakers, Janis Dorrell who spoke on "The Green-eyed Monster" and Cindy VanCamp, with "Our Trip to the West" gave their speeches.
