Many thanks. @ (Mrs) Jean McDermott, Ability Fund Chairman _ Finch, Ont. Feb. 26th, 1970 Port Perry Star, | Port Perry, Ontario. Dear Sir: -- As a member of the Cana- dian' Association for Humane draw to the attention of the horrible suffering that is being in- flicted on fur-bearing animals in this Province, and all across Canada. I am referr- ing to the barbaric and atro- cious leg-hold trap which holds its victim bv the naw until the animal dies either of starvation, or freezing. An animal is in. many cases | trapped up to a period of two weeks. Sometimes even succeeds in chewing off its own paw and crawls away to die. There are Humane traps available now, and more re- search is in progress to de- velop others. I urge people to please write to their members of Parliament urging them to instigate legislation to out- law these leg-hold traps as soon as possible.
