Ninety Attend Service Of World Day An outstanding World Day of Prayer was held on Fri- day, March 6th. This year it was in the Presbyterian Church, Some eighty or ninety women gathered for this meeting. One day out of the whole year given to prayer. Surely the church should have been filled to the doors, and up the aisles. Are we too complacent? Were you not there, you cer- tainly missed a wonderful address given by a lady with sincere and timely message. Leaving everyone with much food for thought. It behoves every right thinking woman to ask herself "Why was I not there"? } The theme for 1970 was "Take courage" (so apropo in times like these). 'Mrs. Veale of Beaverton was guest speaker and dealt with her thought provoking subject in a down to earth realistic way and gave so much to think on, in the days to come. Grant us courage for the liv- ing of these days -- and real courage it takes to face the future. - The different churches took part in this service of Wor- ship. Miss Debbie Griffen|: added greatly to the whole program with a beautiful solo. Tea was served in the school hall and many ladies gathered for a social get-to- gether. Five women chose and de- veloped this theme "Take courage". 1. A housewife from Egypt, 2. A social wor- ker from Guyana, 3. A teach- er from India, 4.A church Of Prayer worker from the Philippines, 5. A woman from U.S.A. The Day is sponsored by an International Committee of which Gudran Diestel of Germany is chairman, and the president of the Women's Inter-Church Council of Can- ada is a member.
