There were ap- proximately 175 guests pre- "sent. Rev. V. Parsons (chap- lain) gave an interesting talk on the growth of the move- ment and Mr. Peter Kallaste spoke on his role as Provin- cial Field Secretary. The leaders of the Venturers, Scouts and Cubs gave a re- port on the work they had done'in the past year. Bob Swain was presented with a trophy as the best all round Venturer, David Malcolm as the best Scout at Camp and Paul Larmer as the best Cub at Camp. Mr. Walter Welts showed moving pictures of the Cuboree which was held in Blackstock last June. The evening closed with the sing- ing of Vespers. The afternoon Unit of the U.C.W. met at the home of Mrs. Victor Parsons on Apr. 14th with 12 members and 1 visitor present. In the ab- sence of the leader Mrs.|, Strong, Mrs. Walter Wright was in charge and opened with a poem "May you Have Enough". Mrs. Russell * Mountjoy conducted a fine worship on the theme "Life is Meant to be Spent". Mrs. Kenneth Samells took the Bible Study and also conduct- ed a Bible Quiz. Last fall, Nancy submitted her recipe for "Butterscotch Crispies" in the contest that attracted over 93,000 entries. these were reduced to 100 which were repeatedly tried and tested until only 25 re- mained. These 25 (24 ladies; 1 man) went to Toronto and baked their' recipes there. When the results were an- nounced at 'the Grand Ban- quet, Nancy had won a Dish- washer.
