Mr. Art Bailey returned this week from Florida where he spent the winter months. On Thursday evening Mrs. Roy Corden was hostess to a "Wig Party". The April meeting of the U.C.W. was held on April 28 at 8:00 p.m. at the Christian Education Centre. The young people of the community had been invited to hear the guest speaker, Miss Marg Pellow of Oshawa. She is the Head of the O.C.V.L Guidance Dept. Her talk on Parent and Teenage Guidance was most interesting and in. formative. I am sure it gave all some new ideas on how to bridge the "communica: tion gap". This must be worked at by both parent & teenager and can start by getting to really know each other. The Worship was led by three of the young people present, Linda McLaughlin, Blair Martyn and Bill Thomp- son. Leanne Dorrell favour- ed with a solo, accompanied at the piano by her sister, Heather. Mrs. Walter Wright read some of Lorna's letter to give us an idea of what her life is like in Thailand. Business was brief to al- low a maximum of time for Miss Pellow's talk. Pellow, Oshawa was a Tuesday evening guest of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Larm- er and boys. In the United Church, Rev. V. E. R. Zufelt from the Camp Quin'mo-lac near Tweed was the guest speaker. Mrs. Zufelt showed slides at the Sunday School. These slides showed some of the many 'activities which take place "at Quin-mo-lac during the various camps through- out the summer months. It is expected that Craig Paisley undergoes surgery in Port Perry Hospital on Tues- day and will have to remain the rest of the week in Hos- pital. > Mr. Russell Brown who is progressing slowly in Port Perry Hospital celebrated his 80th birthday on Tues- day.
