The presentation was pre- ceded by four choralselections by the Junior Choir of R.H. Cornish Public School under the - direction of Mr. Glen Taylor. The two prizes for the best essays in the whole area went to Keith MacNeill of Utica and Elizabeth Bateman of Port Perry. Mr. D. McRitchie, manager of the Bank of Com- merce in Port Perry presented them with cheques of $25.00 and $15.00 respectively. The two winners read their essays and were warmly congratulated on their efforts. Their essays will be printed in the next two issues of the Star. For the best essays in their individual schools, the follow- ing students were awarded cheques of $10.00 by Mrs. Mary MacGregor of the Bank of Commerce.
